The Montgomery Farmers’ Market returns on May 6 for its eighth season. Graduates from the Montgomery Citizen’s Leadership Academy started the Market back in 2010. Three graduates from this year’s MCLA class joined the volunteer board that keeps the Market running.


New this year, the Market will accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps. The same system will allow customers to use credit cards at all of the vendors. The Market is looking for volunteers who want to help with this new program.


Many long-time vendors will be returning—some for their eighth season. There will also be some new vendors. The Market always features local musicians, which makes it a good place to meet friends, drink a cup of coffee, and relax.


The Montgomery Farmers’ Market is located at Montgomery Elementary School, 9609 Montgomery Rd., on Saturdays, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, from May through October. Check out their website at
