St Barnabas 2St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Ohio, will host a discussion on Sunday, March 9, 2014, of ethical and spiritual issues that families and loved ones face at the end of life.

The 4-5:30 p.m. event is the fifth in a series of presentations at St. Barnabas about end-of-life issues. The speaker is the Rev. William Scrivener, an Episcopal priest and senior director of pastoral care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.

The Rev. Scrivener is an expert on helping families deal with end-of-life issues, particularly involving children. He will discuss ethical and spiritual issues faced by families when one of their children has a fatal illness; similarities and differences between children and adults facing end-of-life concerns, and strategies to deal with these problems.

The event is free and open to the public. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions. St. Barnabas is located in Montgomery at 10345 Montgomery Rd., near the Pfeiffer Road exit of Interstate 71.
