st barnabasWith the holiday season approaching, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Montgomery focuses on helping the needy families served by the Findlay Street Neighborhood House in Cincinnati.

Please consider making a donation to the St. Barnabas Findlay Street ministry to buy the basic foods needed for a family to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal in their home. We provide a turkey for the families and a roasting chicken or turkey breast for the single seniors and all the usual accompaniments for a complete Thanksgiving dinner. We will be ordering the food about two weeks before the holiday and delivering everything to the Findlay Street Neighborhood House on Nov. 25, and possibly Nov. 22 as well. Volunteers from Cincinnati Childrens’ Hospital Medical Center will be helping us sort the food and fill the bags.

St. Barnabas will then begin collecting donations to help Findlay Street families celebrate Christmas. Staff at the Findlay Street Neighborhood House are already receiving applications from families requesting assistance. Volunteers in St. Barnabas’ Findlay Street ministry hope to have names for some of those families prior to Thanksgiving and will begin giving out names, soliciting donations and signing up parishioners to adopt families or individuals for food and/or gifts by Dec. 1. The collection of food and gifts for the Findlay Street families will be on Sunday, Dec. 22. The St. Barnabas Findlay Street ministry can make arrangements for anyone who needs to deliver gifts early. Our thanks.
