Parade Entries Welcomed!

womans clubMontgomery’s long time tradition-the annual Independence Day Parade is calling for entries! Get your neighborhood engaged with a fun synchronized lawn chair performance or a riding lawn mower brigade – community rich and perfect for this hometown celebration! This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, July 4.  Parade entries will assemble at designated locations on Cooper Road at 8:30 a.m  with the official parade kick off at 10:00 a.m. Parade registrations can be obtained by calling 891-2424 or by visiting this link to the Independence Day Spectacular! Concert, Parade and Festival | City of Montgomery, Ohio  on the City’s website.

After the parade, the family-friendly festival will feature music, vendors and civic organizations offering a variety of summer foods and drinks, carnival games, pony rides, a bounce house and slide and contests. The Independence Day Festival is located in Montgomery Park on July 4 from 11:00 a.m. to  2:00 p.m.

If you can’t be in the parade but want to help out, find your niche in one of the many volunteer roles needed that day:  parking lot coordinators, entry judges and safety volunteers that help with crowd control and intersection management.  To assist with any of these event tasks, contact DeAnna Gross at 792-8329.
