Operation Give Back is seeking volunteers and new, unused school supplies to help with its Annual Back-to-School Give Away,  on Saturday, August 12,  from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help set up the shopping area and to assist families shopping for school supplies. The goal is to provide over 350 students with a backpack, along with items from their specific school supply lists.  The following school supplies are needed:  large backpacks-suitable for a girl, over-the-ear headphones, earbuds, flash drives, hand sanitizers, paper towels, and zip lock bags.  If you wish to make a monetary donation that will be used to buy school supplies and other needed items for our students, please visit www.ogiveback.com.

Operation Give Back, 10891 Millington Court, is a non-profit organization providing after-school and summer programs focused on life skills and academic enrichment for at-risk and underserved children (grades 2-8) in the Sycamore School District and surrounding areas, where approximately 1000 students live in poverty, according to the Ohio Department of Education.  OGB provides students with a positive, nurturing environment, dedicated tutors and mentors, and family assistance in meeting practical needs to enable self-sufficiency, productivity and school success.

National studies show that children who do not read at grade level by the 3rd grade have significant productivity challenges as adults.  Studies also show that success rates for children increase substantially when they have caring, nurturing adults in their lives. Over the past 15 years, OGB has helped hundreds of students improve their grades and futures while providing enriching volunteer experiences to retirees, local high school students, community members and OGB grads.

Operation Give Back is a certified Ohio Supplemental After-School Service Provider.
