The Montgomery Farmers’ Market, a Montgomery Citizens’ Leadership Academy 2010 class project, is excited to begin accepting SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps) when it opens for its 2017 season on May 6. Their goal is to make the market accessible to everyone who would like to shop at the Market, but they need your help!
The Montgomery Farmers’ Market is looking for volunteers to help staff the SNAP booth at the market. Don’t know anything about SNAP? Don’t worry, they’ll make sure any volunteers are fully trained and have all the resources they will need!
The market is open from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. every Saturday, May through September, and will need at least one volunteer there every Saturday from May 6 until October 28. The market is held at Montgomery Elementary, 9609 Montgomery Road.
If you would like more information or would be willing to work one or more Saturdays this market season, please contact Kim Chelf at email@example.com or 859-806-0808.
