The Northeast Emergency Distribution Services (NEEDS) Board is comprised of representatives from a community of 25 churches and civic organizations whose mission is to do God’s work through caring for their neighbors by providing basic emergency assistance. There are also a number of at-large community members who have independently joined the board or who volunteer for the food pantry.
Volunteers from the Montgomery area turned out in impressive numbers on Saturday, October 18, Making A Difference Day, in an annual effort to promote volunteer service for others. St. Barnabas Episcopal Church coordinated the event this year for Connect Montgomery, the civic collaborative that includes representatives of the City of Montgomery, service organizations, churches and neighborhood groups.
